I was thinking the other day, having too much time on my hands, of what old tracks GMT could perform or even re-record, as they already start with a few of Bernie's old songs. (At no time should any gig featuring Bernie start with any song other than Wild West. Ever.)
Anyway, the track I came up with was Prescences from the Electric Gypsies album. For one thing, it's my all-time favourite song, greater even than Mystery Train. I've pestered Bernie about it before! For those that haven't heard it, it starts with acoustic guitar and violin, has strange lyrics, a spooky atmosphere, and the mosy amazing, soaring solo. It also has, behind said solo, as well as ghostly voices, some great drumming, and I could just picture Robin and Bernie both going at their instruments hammer and tongs!
Any one like to come up with some other suggestions?
Paul
Turn Out The Lights, still havent cleared out a cupboard and found the albums yet! I desparetely need a revisit after having heard The White Trash Guitar sessions.

Turn Out The Lights is a great album, I particually liked 'America' on that record.
Post-Gillan work, I'd love to see Mr Universe again with Bernie dueling with Colin Towns keyboards again. 'She Tears Me Down' is another classic I'd KILL to see performed live with Colin Towns on-board for a 'one-off'
About mid-set hearing Chelsea Girls would be a nice change of pace.
Never realised That Mr Torme was a multi instrumentalist, on Turn Out The Lights he is credited with harmonica, chinese flutes, percussion and string machine on India (one of my favourite countries btw). Paul is right about Wild West though, listening to it now! Star would be a close runner up for me, for starting the gig and throw in Heads Will Roll from McCoys Think Hard.

A left-over track that appeared on a Japanese 12" import was 'One For The Road' is a favourite of mine, very punk rock riff by Bernie. Simple yet effective lyrics as well.........an under-rated classic. Definately one that 'could' be done live, very easy and no problem for a 3 piece.
One For The Road appears on the re-issued Gillan CD (out Monday 2nd April) Future Shock as a bonus track for fans not sure of this little gem
Some Vengeance or No Easy Way for me. Got that import, why were the Japanese vinyls better than ours?
As Eclipse stated..
'Chelsea girls' would be a great addition.
and as Redial said..
'One more from the road'
(My personal favourite track from the Future Shock era!).
Would love to hear No easy way again and their version of Secret of The Dance. Any Hendrix will be a bonus.
Apparently John doesn't like Secret of the Dance; shame, they did it so well!
No Easy Way might be a possibility as Bernie played it for a long time after leaving Gillan. Wonder of he can sing Mr Universe? Need a keyboard player for that, though
