According to reports, a guitar (1965 Strat) that Jimi set on fire at Londons Astoria has been 'discovered' in a loft in Sussex and is up for auction at £500,000!!!!!
Now, if it was the iconic strat that he set alight at Monteray...or was it Woodstock Rog?..then I could understand the high reserve, but I'm not convinced at half a million it'll sell.

Not convinced either, but some Hendrix 'head' in some corporation will have the $s I guess!

The Monterey strat was believed to be the one that Frank Zappa had, which he rebuilt and passed on to his son Dweezil, but the one that he burned at the London Astoria has also been referred to as the Zappa Hendrix strat. And then there is the one that he burned at Miami...........
It goes on and on. It seems a bit strange to me that one of his guitars could have been in somebodys possession for all these years and forgotten about. Did it state if there was any provenance/ proof of its identity?
I will look into it after Grimsby.
Maybe I should check my loft too?
This still doesn't convince me to be honest but if you have 10 spare minutes, watch this interview with Tony Garland the guy that lost it for 40 years. Sorry! Left the guitar in his nephews loft.
