Well, we have tickets in the pipeline for The Rock & Blues, The Rhythm Festival, The Bulldog Bash, Beautiful Days and waiting for some special tickets to go on sale for Wychwood. The Levellers are playing at all bar The Bash so I should be well versed in their stuff by the end of the summer. Then there is all the local ones Togfest, Folk on The Green, Riverside and other free ones such as Strawberry Fayre in Cambridge and last but not least, although no amplified music these days Stonehenge.

Yep! Its nearly that time of year again. In fact our first one begins on June 1st at The Wychwood Festival, Cheltenham Race Course.
But I read today that The Glastonbury Festival will be giving a free roll of toilet paper to everyone who attends (just what you need, something else to carry as you arrive on site!).
But as Blabbermouth report at

The organisers of Wacken Festival in Germany, I think? Have gone one better, offering the opputunity to rent your own portaloo.

Less than two weeks now until The Wychwood festival and I will be sitting in the sun consuming a little alcohol and listening to the likes of The Levellers, Robyn Hitchcock and the recently added Ian Hunter on the Friday.
Saturday brings the sounds of Fun Lovin' Criminals, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Anoushka Shankar aswell as Transglobal Underground.
Sunday has Country Joe MacDonald, Eliza Carthy & Ed Harcourt, Zion Train and closing the main stage Afro Celt Sound System.
You might not be able to tell but I can't wait!!!

Just got back from the above and as someone said to me before I went "Enjoy!! you will have a thousand memories" well he was right. I saw most of the bands listed above plus many more, Rodrigo y Gabriela stood out as did Zion Train and Subgiant.
But I promised to give a band that we camped next to a shout out and they were called Heavy Load, please check their website. http://www.heavyload.org/ and http://www.myspace.com/heavyloaduk
The band are a mixture of people with and without learning disabilities that are playing punk and their enthusiasm and their carers dedication really made them stand out.
They definately should have been on later in the day rather than their 6.30 slot. The beach ball fight during the set was a sight to see. They were filmed throughout their stay at the festival and are hoping to get it showcased at The Sundance Festival next year, aswell as on Channel 4.
They were kind enough to give us a copy of their cd "The Queen Mother is Dead" which has recordings of I Fought The Law, I Can't Get You Out of My Head and Batman (the theme) amongst others.
