Thought I'd start a thread here about Desperado, a band Bernie was involved in along side Clive Burr (d), Dee Sinder (v), and a fellow named Marc Russel (b). For years their CD was only available as a bootleg called "Bloodied But Unbowed." As I understand it, the CD was done - professionally recorded and all, the artwork was all selected, and BANG! At the last second, the deal was pulled and the CD was never released until only very recently as "Ace." The current version is actually missing some tracks, too. The version I have from 1996 goes:

1. Hang 'Em High
2. Gone Bad
3. The Maverick
4. The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter
5. Calling For You
6. See You At Sunrise
7. There's No Angels Here
8. Made For Trouble
9. Ride Thru The Storm
10. Son Of A Gun
11. Emaheeval
12. Easy Action
13. Heart Of Saturday Night (Tom Waites cover)

Below is the original cover:

This is the current cover:

1. Hang 'Em High
2. Gone Bad
3. Run Wild Run Free (The Maverick)
4. Heart Is A Lonely Hunter
5. Calling For You
6. See You At Sunrise
7. No Angels Here
8. Made For Trouble
9. Ride Thru The Storm
10. Son Of A Gun
11. Emaheevull
A photo I found of the band:

Plus their logo or maybe one of them at one time:
OK, so several of these tracks seemed familiar to me so I decided to dig out some of my Dee Snider material. His post-Desperado band was called Widowmaker and featured the aforementioned Marc Russel on bass, Joe Franco (ex-Twisted Sister) on drums, and Al Pitrelli on guitar.

On Widowmaker's 1992 debut, "Blood And Bullets" they covered some Desperado tracks, namely Emaheevul, Gone Bad, Calling For You, and on the Japan-only version of the CD, a song called Easy Action.

In 2000, Dee Snider put out a solo CD called "Never Let The Bastards Wear You Down." That CD had a song called "Desperado" but it isn't on the Desperado CD. The song is credited to Dee Sinder & Bernie Torme. Also on this CD is Snider's cover of Desperado's Ride Thru The Storm. Other songs on "Never Let The Bastards Wear You Down" credited to Snider/Torme include: Isn't It Time, Cry You A Rainbow, Uh Huh Huh, and Sometimes You Win.
I managed to track down a pristine copy of the 11 track 2006 version being sold by a guy in Canada, complete with a "file under Twisted Sister" sticker (advice for a half witted record store owner?).  It cost me the princely sum of £7.07 including P&P and arrived in less than a week!!

I notice that the same seller has another copy up for grabs....just search Snider Desperado on eBay

Hey thanks for that! I'll do it up after I pay off the blasted credit card, which this year, wasn't too bad.

Happy Holidays, Phil!
