At last! Its here, Muffin Men day and a night out on the tiles with Mrs Redial at The Borderline, London.First gig in ages although the next one is next week, the matinee show by The Waterboys at The Stables.
Hi on Maiden at The Pitz on Friday, its been over 20 years since I saw Iron Maiden at Reading in 1982. So they should be interesting.
Hi on Maiden

Well what can I say, they certainly did not live up to my expectations. I think its the first time I have left a gig early voluntarily. I think I will just keep the Iron Maiden, Reading 1982 memory in my head and forget about last night. I just hope The Waterboys can recreate Glastonbury 1986 for me tomorrow.
The Waterboys

I closed my eyes and could almost smell the grass and feel the sun on my back. It could almost have been Glastonbury 1986. Unfortunately due to "technical diffuculties" the show started late and we only got an hour and a half (they have been playing two hour plus shows), well it was the matinee performance! Even their semi acoustic stuff rocked though and when Mike Scott plugged his guitar in they ROCKED! Whole of The Moon, Glastonbury Song, A Fishermans Blues and one of my favourites Red Army Blues. By the last tune pretty much everyone was up dancing, jiggin' and reelin'.

Next up The Wildhearts on May 16th
Del Bromham and Stray at The Pitz on Saturday. Not really heard a lot of his stuff but I am told he is worth it. Anybody got any listening recommendations?
Off to see The Easy Star All Stars (again) tonight at The Jazz Cafe in Camden.
They will be playing Radiodread and Dub Side of The Moon, reggae versions of Ok Computer and Pink Floyd's Dark Side of The Moon respectively.
They were really good the last time we saw them at Dingwalls last December and I am expect nothing less tonight.
For anyone who may be interested the set list
Dub'l07 (with new intro), Wake Up Call (No DJ), Caesar, Airbag, Paranoid Android, Let Down, Breathe, On The Run, Money/Exit/Money, Climbing..,Electioneering, Lucky .
Encore: Jam Rock/Move+Gway, Time, Great Gig, Finest, Karma Police
Then they came back again and blew us away with some more finest reggae, only just caught our train home.
Cant wait until Beautiful Days, they are on the main stage now!
Tomorrow brings The Blockheads into town with Phil Jupitus on vox! Its either them or local heroes The Peartree Bridge Family at the local.
I would rather be in Southend.
Next weekend we are off to The Rhythm Festival near Bedford. On the bill The Levellers, Otway & Barrett, Joe Bonamassa, The Blockheads, John Mayall, Alabama3, Steve Harley and some version of The Yardbirds, not the version I am hoping for I guess?

Redial, I managed to win two tickets for this festival courtesy of Planet Rock! Handy as I only live a five minute drive from the venue! Might bump into you there, I will wear my GMT shirt and dish out GMT flyers, especially as they will be playing here in September at Esquires.

Way to go, winning tickets that is!
Will keep an eye out for the shirt, we are having festival kick off drinks at The Hangar Bar by the second stage around 4'o clock. Come along?
Got a mini bus full of people coming along for Esquires!
Ace will let you know about Bonamassa, see if he is all he is cracked up to be!
